Back to hometown ~Bon holiday in Cambodia~ 田舎へ帰ろう 〜カンボジアのお盆休み、プッチュンバン〜

Under the bright and clear sky,

気持ち良い快晴の中

*Roads are not paved so well that masks are necessary to prevent a cloud of dusts.

※舗装されていない道を走るので、砂煙対策にマスクは必須

We drove a motorbike heading to my friend’s hometown.

完全防備で国道5号線を北に、バイクを飛ばして約2時間

It took two hours to get to “Kor Villa”.

友人の故郷「Kor Villa」に到着。

 ※  I asked him if I could climb by myself, but he refused it because of its dangerousness.

※  スルスルと登る少年。私が自分で登っていいかと聞くと危ないからダメとのこと

 ※  実をぐりぐり捻って地面に落とす!

※  He twisted it off and dropped it to the ground.

 ※      It was so hardy. It didn’t get any damages, even it was dropped from 10 meters height!

※  10メートルの高さから落としてもびくともしない。めっちゃ頑丈！

I don’t really like coconut juice, but,

あまりココナッツジュースが好きではなかったのですが、

 ※  selling price : 700Riel = 0.17$

※  ちなみに売り価格は一つ700リエル

※  Market price = 0.5$

※  市場で買うと2000リエルで買えます

It was really good!

これは美味い！！

Maybe it’s just my imagination, but fresh one is the best at all.

気のせいかも知れませんが、採れたては全然違いますなぁ

 They slaughtered chickens on the spot...

そしてその場でチキンを屠殺し、

 Pulled those birds!

羽をむしり取る！

And then, I ate it all with gratitude.

そして、とても美味しく頂きました。

In Japan, they know how to show it without reality,

日本は見せ方が上手いので、

So, people might not imagine killing animals.

動物を殺すというリアリティをつかみにくいのですが、

But eventually it takes the same process to be eaten by people.

結局同じ行程を踏んでいるのですから、

What we need is thanking them.

ただ感謝するしかありません。

※I likes dogs which they don’t throw itself at people, not like Japanese ones.

※日本と違って媚を売らないワンコ、好きです

Here, dogs are not for “having” but more like for living together as a part of your family.

カンボジアでは犬は『飼う』ではなく、一緒に生活をする家族のような存在です。

So they don’t flatter on human. It’s the cool way.

だから媚びない。凛としてカッコいいです。

After that, we drank intently!

そして後はひたすら飲みまくる！

Cambodian people can drink a lot. They got me...

カンボジアの人はお酒強いっす。参りました。。。

 I even drank around 10 cans of beer…

私も缶で10本はいったでしょうか。。。

There were hundreds of my friend’s relatives.

友達の親戚が何百人とそこら中にいるので、

When I was making the rounds to greet them,

挨拶で回っていると、

They called me, one after another.

その都度お呼ばれして大変です。

 And, a pig arrived.

と、ここで豚到着

Then…

これを・・・

 Peeled its skin…!!!

剥がして・・!！

There we go!!

どん！！
